Here you’ll find the answers to any question you may have about posting on Roadistic.

What is Roadistic?

An idea that took a long time to come to fruition.

We’ve seen the demise of many start-ups in the automotive field, either they can’t fund huge great offices of staff or they just don’t bring in enough revenue so get shuttered.

Roadistic is a user generated content site where discussion can flourish, your car can be featured and one that’s not reliant on advertising revenue or having to pay staff wages.

It’s an incredibly simple set up. You upload your pictures and words, we moderate it, then post it.

Do you accept any content?

Any car content yes, and we can only accept image uploads. YouTube embeds work perfectly, just copy the share link into your article.

Content will be screened for profanity and abuse, you will be banned if you post such things. We also have the right to remove any post, either live or waiting to be screened without reason.

Can I put images into my posts?

You can link to external images and place them inline with text that you submit. To do so you’ll need to click the ‘Text’ tab, then the ‘img’ tab and insert the link to the image that’s already online and accessible.

Otherwise all images will display at the bottom of your post, with the first image you upload the header (main image up top).

I made a mistake, can I delete or edit my post?

No, there is no ability to edit or delete a post yourself. Once it’s uploaded that’s it.

Please make sure posts are spell checked and formatted correctly before you upload them.

How can I delete my post?

If you wish for your post to be removed fromRoadistic, please email: deleteit@roadistic.com with the URL link.

You’ll need to confirm your full name and contact us via the email address you used to upload the content.

We aim to remove all posts within 7 days.

How do I find all the posts I’ve submitted?

When posting please create a unique ‘tag’ in the tags field, this can either be your car registration number, or something totally uniquely identifiable to you – but it is public, so nothing too personal.

You’ll then be able to click that tag once your post is live, and it will then show all the other posts with that tag – as well as other peoples if you haven’t used a specific enough word or phrase!

You can then use that link to share all your content online.

Can I use Roadistic as a portfolio?

Sure, link away!

Using the method described above would curate all your wok into one place, that way it can be shared wherever you like.

Why not just have user accounts?

Complication.

The way Roadistic has been set up is the simplest form of user driven content, it has to be this way as there is no huge company sitting behind the idea. Accounts allowing logging in and managing your own posts adds to the HR and security headaches such a site can bring.

The tools that have been used to create Roadistic are all off the shelf and largely free. There are no in house devs, no bespoke platform.

It is what it is but should be able to scale perfectly.

Can I advertise or sell things?

No, you cannot advertise or sell things on Roadistic. Any posts related to selling or trading will be automatically filtered and deleted before moderation can even happen.

If you’re a business looking to advertise a product or service, please get in touch via the contact form.

How are we funding this?

To start with the site should be easy to look after, if we see rapid growth we’ll have to move to a dedicated server – which could cost a fair amount per month.

We’d like to keep this little corner of the internet as advert and banner free as possible, to enable that we’ve set up Ko-fi so you can donate (if you wish, you don’t have to).

Other than that, revenue will be generated from advertorial posts and potentially a few very select banners, these funds will be put back into the site to keep it running infinitum – currently the site is ad free.
